Mentor Opportunities
Each mentor program is designed to provide Fisher students with opportunities to both learn from professionals, as well as give back to the Fisher community. All mentoring programs engage and enlighten undergraduate students from the perspective of someone with an understanding of Fisher and with more experience as a business student or working professional.
Mentor Opportunities
The Fisher Peer Mentor Program (FPMP) matches first-year students with an upper-level Fisher volunteer mentor. Throughout the academic year, students meet during a kick-off and can participate in monthly events.
Upper-level student mentors participate in a mentor training workshop prior to engaging their mentee.
Incoming Fisher students receive sign-up information during Orientation and via email.
The Fisher Alumni Undergraduate Mentor Program (AUMP) pairs sophomore/junior Fisher undergraduate students with Fisher alumni and friends of the College via an application process. These pairs connect on a monthly basis either in person or virtually if the mentor is outside of Central Ohio. The program occurs from August through April with guided goal setting and check points throughout the academic year.
Participants subsequent AUMP events that have included, networking etiquette, an Ohio State hockey game, and a behind the scenes tour of Ohio Stadium.
Applications open late Spring semester.

Mentoring is a relationship in which an experienced person (the mentor) assists another (the mentee) in a developing specific skills and knowledge that will enhance the mentee's professional and personal growth. Several of our Fisher recognized student organizations support and host mentor programs for their members.

- Q. Is there a deadline to participate?
A. Only for the Alumni Undergraduate Mentor Program. Applications open during Spring semester. - Q. I am in a Scholars Program and will receive a mentor through that program, should I still participate in the Fisher Peer Mentor Program?
A. Since many Scholars Programs have a mentor aspect we discourage students from participating in both mentor programs. - Q. When will I meet my mentor?
A. Matching for the Fisher Alumni Undergraduate Mentor Program and the Fisher Peer Mentor Program takes place over the summer and mentor information will be sent mid-August. Both programs will have official kick-off events! - Q. Are there program requirements?
A. Yes. Both programs have expectations including consistent meaningful contact and, if available, attending various events. The main requirement is to learn from each other and have fun!
